The children in Kungälv Municipality's preschools receive a playful and joyful education based on democratic values. We challenge the children and lay the foundation for lifelong learning in a safe and stimulating environment.

Job Responsibilities

We are currently in need of preschool assistants who are interested in temporary positions within the preschool operations in Kungälv Municipality.

As a preschool assistant, you will be part of the daily care for children aged 1–5 years. You will create a safe and stimulating environment, support the children in their routines, and be a role model in their play and learning, both indoors and outdoors.

Together with your colleagues and the children at the preschool, you will work with and follow the operational guidelines where we place a strong focus on the children's learning and development.

For us, it is important that you contribute to creating a positive, meaningful, and developing environment for each child as well as the entire group of children.

Working hours will vary between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM on weekdays.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you need to meet the following requirements:

  • Approved high school education from the child and leisure program.
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.
  • Good knowledge of mobile and computer usage.
  • Ability to work varying hours between 6 AM and 6 PM on weekdays.
  • A driver's license and access to a car are required for some of the temporary positions in the municipality's outer areas.
  • Must present a valid extract from the criminal record for schools and preschools.

Meritorious

Previous experience working with children, either through internships or previous employment.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.

What does our recruitment process look like?

  • Selection and interviews will take place continuously during the application period based on the needs of the operations.
  • You should provide two references from supervisors, one of which should be your current or most recent supervisor, or a previous team leader. If you have no previous work experience, provide one of your teachers as a reference. Remember to contact your references before providing their contact information.
  • If you have previously been employed by Kungälv Municipality, we will contact your former supervisor for internal references as part of our recruitment process.
  • If you are not a citizen of the EU/EES area, a work permit is required, this does not apply to those who have permanent residency. The work permit must be presented at the interview.
